At A Glance Departures

The 7-day Cape to Cape Ultimate Luxury Walk 7D6N offers you the opportunity to walk on the best sections of the Cape to Cape Track while staying at luxurious boutique accommodation and indulging in gourmet food and wine the Magaret River region has to offer. This luxury walk features an exclusive 7 course lunch with wine matches at Leeuwin Estate, a dinner at Lamont's, and private chef in-villa dinner showcasing local produce.

Your trip starts from Perth and you'll stay at COMO The Treasury, occupying the 19th-century State Buildings. Then enjoy a private transfer to Margaret River where you will embark on walking the Cape to Cape Track for 5 days.

The Cape to Cape track is located in Australia's South-West, in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. The track covers 135km of coast line from Cape Naturaliste (near Yallingup) in the North, to Cape Leeuwin (near Augusta) in the South. Located within the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, the track winds along pristine beaches and dramatic coastal cliffs, as well as through coastal bush that comes alive with wildflowers in the Spring. The magnificent karri trees of Boranup forest provide a great contrast, and Cape Leeuwin, which is also the meeting point of two oceans - the Indian and Southern - provides a unique terminus to the track.

The terrain is a combination of white sand, limestone cliffs, granite rock, old 4WD tracks, sealed paths and bushy track. The sections of the Cape to Cape track used for the tour are rated as moderate, with a couple of easier sections around Sugarloaf Rock and Boranup forest providing a breather.

For the nature lover, there is no shortage of wildlife and plant variety on the Cape to Cape track. The area is a world biodiversity hotspot, with approximately 80% of the plant life found nowhere else in the world. There are magnificent wildflowers along the track in Spring and an abundance of birdlife year round. Dolphins are regularly seen playing in the waves, and whales cruise the ocean alongside the track from June to December. Kangaroos and emus are not uncommon, and the impressive Southern Heath Monitor lizard is occasionally seen (or heard) rummaging in the bushes.

This luxury walking tour allows plenty of time for relaxation at your 5 star boutique accommodation, a beachfront resort at Smiths Beach, a country estate, and a forest retreat. Exclusive dinners at Lamont's, Cape Lodge Lakeside Restaurant, gourmet platter, an in-villa private chef dinner and 7 course degustation lunch with matching wine at Leeuwin Estate.

Your tour includes 6 nights’ twin share 5 star accommodation, all meals, 5-day guided walks, all trail transfers, ‘Ultimate Leeuwin Degustation Experience’, and private return transfers to/from Perth.

The ideal experience for the intrepid food and wine enthusiast wishing to explore the natural surroundings of one of Australia’s most well regarded wine regions, the Cape to Cape taster walk offers an exhilarating yet relaxing introduction to this remarkable coastline.

  • WALKING GRADING

  • What Insiders Say

"Rounding a peak, we draw breath at the vista of the cobalt Indian Ocean meeting honey-hued sands and people- free swimming spots. One of these, ‘The Aquarium’, is a local favourite and as I glide through its bottle-green water, glimpsing rocks through crystalline liquid, I can see why. Back on the trail, the air is stung with the perfume of native shrubs and the longer lasting scent of some 2500 wildflower species”. Australian Traveller

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and Age Limits
You need to advise OCT4 PTY LTD and the tour operator on any pre-existing medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a trip and the enjoyment of other trip members. OCT 4 PTY LTD and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The walks take place in very special wilderness settings. The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the OCT4 PTY LTD and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.

    Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which OCT4 Pty Ltd or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure OCT4 Pty Ltd will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.

    Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.

For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the OCT4 PTY LTD and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.

    Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
